It was developed to allow users to change the password of the administrator on any Windows NT/2000 system, so was designed for those people who had inadvertently lost a password or been locked out of a workstation or a server, bypassing the security system and allowing the password to be reset. To use the system you need to connect to it remotely, through a null-modem cable or over a network, which will give you access to the system though you won't be able to reboot it. This will then run on the local system and the password of any local account may be reset on the remote system. This facility may be useful for someone who wants to break into a system unnoticed, but the legalities of it are extremely dubious. If you are logged on to the system as administrator it is possible to change the other passwords anyway. This program should not compromise your security if you are already following good security practices.
